Thanksgiving.
A time of the year we almost forget
because Christmas is so near
is Thanksgiving day, turkey day
a day we should hold dear.
Our ancestors were worried long ago
about how we were going to live
they made the ultimate sacrifice
they gave all they had to give.
They left their home across the sea
on a journey to no one knew where
they came to this great land of plenty
God led then here I'm sure.
So when you eat that old turkey
and then sit back and rest
you should be very very thankful
America, it is the best.
How many gallons of blood and sweat
were lost to make us free
I don't know what it meant to you
but it means the world to me.
So if you don't know what to be thankful for
on this thanksgiving day
be thankful to your ancestors
to God, and remember to pray.
