No Time
I used to wonder why my dad
seemed no time for me he had
now I know but it's too late
no need for me to aggravate.

Dad was busy all the time
working hard inside the mines
black as coal he was each day
he had no time to look my way.

No time, No time, he always said
how it echoes in my head
busy, busy as a bee
he had no time for little me.

Working hard to pay our bills
buying food to fix our meals
for a little love he had no time
always working in those mines.

Now I'm older and wiser too
I try to do what I must do
the reason I wrote this little rhyme
Don't tell your child you have no time.
