FORGOTTEN CHILD
Written By: Terry A. Mosley..
I think of him quite often
And I wish I could return,
All the time that has passed by
And all the things I've learned.

A simple smile was all he had
to let you know his thoughts,
and a look from deep within his blue eyes
made up for his lack to talk.

He could not turn himself about
or rise from where he lay,
how many times I have passed his bed
and had no words to say.

If I could have those moments back
If I could pass that bed again,
I would spend more time there
I would read the thoughts behind that grin.

His mother had to leave him
She had to go away
His soul support, His love, his hope,
He was left alone that day.

He had to live in an old folks home,
although old he never became,
and as the days went slowly by
He became wretched with lots of pain.

No one came to see him
this person oh so mild
and now I think as my heart bleeds
for this forgotten child.

I am not innocent as I write these words
It seems that I forgot him too,
So search your heart, search your mind
What if everyone had forgotten you.
You're Visitor No.
