Some times we say these times are hard
We think we have it rough.
Go sign up on your food stamps
state aid and all that stuff.
Go get yourself a doctors card,
to pay your doctor bill
tell yourself its all alright
yet all against your will.
Tell your friends there is no work
in this county to be found
say you've look so very hard
there's just no work around.
Go get drunk and have a ball
take your wife a fishing
talk about the working man
because he's always wishing
Wishing for a day or two
to do the things you do
but what he does is work all day
to give these things to you.
