Easter
Easter has lost its true meaning
in most the world today.
Rabbits clucking like a hen
while Easter eggs they lay.

Baskets full of candy
chocolate eggs and such.
given to the little ones
seems to mean so much.

Dresses with their little bows
little Easter shoes.
hiding eggs down at the park
after Sunday school.

All these things are good I guess
when taken in their place.
But Jesus died for you and I
Don't let it be a waste.

Why would children think about
a man upon a tree.
Who died 2,000 years ago
to save both you and me.

Although he arose from death one day
after 3 days in the earth.
Just how many people know
what that death was worth.

Tradition is a way of life
it's always been that way.
but the traditions of tomorrow
begins with us today.

We can make them good or bad
we can make them fun.
we must make them realize
that God gave up his Son.

He died on a tree between two thief's
He arose to set us free.
I don't care what the world might think
that's what Easter means to me.
