Today is Easter Sunday
a day of joy and glee
everyone seem's so happy
and oh, we all should be.
Today I have been wondering
if we all understand
what brought forth this happy day
upon this saddened land.
On this day a long time ago
a promise was fulfilled
Jesus said he would arise
in spite of blood he'd spilled.
He left behind an empty tomb
and appeared again to man
proof beyond any doubt, he showed
the nail marks on his hands.
Jesus is alive today
just like he was back then
he's right here in this house with you
but are you here with him.
So today if you are happy
stop and remember why
Jesus arose, from the dead
never again to bleed or die.
