A New Pair Of Legs.
I was sitting on a bench at the park
When I saw a little girl
She had tears in her eyes
So I went to talk to her.

As I ask what is the matter
She looked straight into my eyes
She said my legs don't work no more
So I sat down by her side.

She said I'd  like to run and play with my friends
But since the car wreck
The doctor said
I'd never be able to walk again

She said I lost my dad
in that car wreck
when a drunk driver hit us in the side
sometimes I wish I was the one who died

So I asked where's your mother
And the little girl replied
She's over at the monkey bars
Playing with my Brother

I pray every night to God
To give me a new pair of legs
she said someday God
will help me walk again

She wrote me a letter from time to time
I was happy to reply
she wrote about things she had done
and the places she had been

The last letter I got from her
was about the trip she was going to take
She said I'm going to Heaven soon
I finally get to see those Golden Gates

Don't worry about me I'll be just fine
My dad is up there waiting for me
Me and Him will go through
the gates side by side

P.S     I forgot to tell you
My Dads name is Ted
He will be with me
When God gives me my new pair of legs
