Don't Feel pity for me, the dying father said
let me feel sorry for myself  for soon I will be dead.
Smile with me, laugh with me, help me bear the pain
and when I'm gone sing a song, do not feel no blame.

I've lived my life the best I could, mistakes were made for certain
if I could I would take them back along with all the hurting.
But we are only given so much time, some things you can't take back
the best we can do is hope and pray that we can stay on track.

Love each other every day and pray for all each night
enjoy time it's like a rhyme when you don't read it right
Spend it wisely, treasure it always, store it in your heart
those who waste it, will someday miss it and see they're not so smart.

Help each other when you can, lend a helping hand
throw your neighbor a rope when he's in sinking sand.
Pull him out dry him off, help him to his feet
don't make him ask for bread when you can offer meat.

So don't feel pity for me Son, follow my advice
you can be mean and make a scene or you can be nice.
In the end when your time has come and you can't last much longer
pass this on to someone else and help them to be stronger.
