The House
Silence fell on the tiny house
as it sat upon the hill
it's residents no longer there
since the daughter had been ill.

The house that once was full of life
was now an empty shell
all alone from day to day
hoping soon the girl would be well.

Days turned into weeks
minutes into hours
the sunshine that once was, now clouds
the warmness turned to showers.

The walls that once absorbed the light
now was full of gloom
the house so full of emptyness
that spread from room to room.

Come home it seemed to say to me
revive this small abode
the life without, bring within
together we'll grow old.
